Today, computers are almost a necessity. However, I can imagine life without computers. I believe you can too. Just try to remember your lives from a few decades ago like the 70s for instance. Computers were rare and expensive those days, so most people couldn't afford them. And yet, our lives were just as fine as it is today. I believe what's needed in life are the essentials like food, water and shelter. Besides these necessities, all we need is LOVE. I do spend almost 10 hours a day atleast on my computer. No , i am not doing any work. Its just regular browsing of forums, visting some sites and few mails thats it. Infact i cannot even stay without an internet connection.I cant even afford a single day downtime a month with my internet conenction [cyrux004]
I also like my computer very much, and am on it for a while ususaly each day. My family members also use it alot. IT is fun and a convience for my family, but definately not a necessity. When our last computer died, we did without one for quite awhile, and survived just fine. If someone used it for work, It would probally be a different story for them. [ebberts]

i can't really imagine.I've been trying to get a Laptop now for close to a year and it's getting excruciating.Actually my cousins left a Pentium 1 for me,so all i do now is to save whatever i can save on a diskette in school,then open at home,at least i have something to look up to at the end of the day,you can't imagine the curiosity in trying to open the diskette at home when you know you dont have internet connection at home,at least you're updated on a daily basis, it's been a joyous ride like that,you know something to look up to till my laptop arrives.Though the diskette doesn't save much it actually serves me.We all need a computer definitely. You have to remember the computer isn't very old so there fore there is probably a generations that doesn't even know how to use one let alone buy one. When they first came out they were very expensive and bulky. They took up a lot of room. Evidentually everyone will have one but not in the next 10 years. Good Example of this is my husband who is over 60 doesn't even know how to turn my on. He doesn't want to learn. He enjoys the radio listening to the baseball games and watching TV. I know he will never learn how to use one. I think this is the norm for our older generation. [untiltomorrow]
i had to laugh about 6 years ago my mom got her first computer and asked me how to use it. She kept saying why do you have to go to the start button to shut it off. i want to shut it off not start!!! It don't make sense. i thought it was funny! Now she's a pro at the computer! [Lauraleigh99]

U know i don't have a computer of my own. Am using from my office. Yes it is possible, but for business men it is necessary, without a computer a business man cannot run his job. So like wise a person who was always busy with his work releated to marketing, or IT releated jobs must n should need a laptop. So i agree 50:50. [naidugopal]
