Just wondering.

responses and comments:
No. I would be a bit worried if it did! I have enough power for it to cope with. [dmacdonald111]
Thanks for answering. [suzieque]
It maybe slow down you computers, every program you load into background process will take your memory. If that meet limit of your memory then it will slow down your computers. Have a nice day. [istanto]
Thanks for commenting. It's good to know because I don't know much about computers. [suzieque]
That depends For instance if you use winamp, it doesnt take much memory rather than windows media player [vipul20044]
Thanks for the comment. I am using winamp at the moment so it's good to know. [suzieque]
nope it doesnt slow down my comp :) [devilangelo]
thanks for the comment. [suzieque]
No,I have 640 RAM.But logically,obviously it slows down the machine a bit.But it's negligibe. [debjit]
thanks for the comment. [suzieque]
yes it would slow down when listenign to music especially when streaming videos... [dasnoopygirl]
Sometimes, yes especially when I am playing a ballad, but when I am playing some rock, it goes faster. Yes, I know, I'm a fool. ;) [bazranz]
Yes, Because my computer does not have enough RAM or temporary memory is slooooooow takes 30 minutes before I can do anything on it... I do not like my computer at all. Other then it has good storage memory that is the only good thing about it... the CD burner even exploded a cd in the rom drive so can't do that... annoying.. :). So now I can't listen to music unless I want to wait 30 seconds to 5 minutes for a file to open.. if it opens or freezes then I gotta reboot :). - DNatureofDTrain [dnatureofdtrain]
Usually not. If pc is going slowly when yu are listening music it means that some backgrounds software are working. So you have to check them. Pérobably nothing serious but... better be sure about that. [lucalucky]
Yes it does, Due to the fact that listening music also uses your computer memories. [omega007]
Yes it can in the same way that anything else you are running at the same time will slow down your computer. That is why you should not play games when trying to post here in myLot. LOL [ossie16d]
yes a lot and i dont know why. I dont like Media Player anymore. [Jetdanet]
no!it doesent slow down you computer [urzicutza]
Yes, Coz its uses memory, but in the Dual Core I think that doesnt have a problem [squire770077]
not listening to music, but other things do [gabi1203]
no it doesnt...i dont think so tat nyones comp will gt slowed... [ashutoshgl]
Nopes..i dont believe a computer would slow down because of you listening to music on it. But if too many windows are open, things can slow down a bit. i guess it depend son how much RAM you have on your comp. [bindishah]
if i play whole albums through it,after awhile it's best to reboot-but it doesn't slow down while i'm listening to it. [scarlet_woman]
It slows my computer a little but not much. [hiddenwolf]
it all depends on how powerful the computer is. like my computer is really quite powerful and i can have up to like 10 programs running at once and it doesnt show the slightest sign of slowing down, but if you have an old computer then it may not be the same but could be just fine. all in all anything you have running on your computer will slow it down, its just how much that makes the difference [dasman]
It seems to happen when I use Windows Media to play music for some reason. I am not sure if my computer is garbage(it is) or what, but Windows Media always seems to give problems no matter what. Because of that, I use Winamp to listen to my music mostly. I find Winamp does not eat up so much system memory, and does not lag(too often) when using multiple programs. [kataztrophy]
no.. not at all. please mention the configuration of your pc. but it's probability is very very low. [ritwikghoshal]
not, only when i playing some game ^^ [nonelemental]
You know, anything that you run on your computer whether listening to music, playing a midi file, playing a video, loading a word document or even a text file will consume a portion (or alot depends on the requirement of the application/program) of your computer's memory. So if you're experiencing a slow down while listing/playing a music then perhaps you have many programs currently loaded and your computer's memory is not enough to accomodate these doing their activities all at once. Better close the programs you don't want for now to free up some memory and so it won't interrupt your listening experience or if you have the cash, upgrade your memory. :) [nvtellan]
o ya, it does slow down your system when u listen to music... and more over when u have installed a skin for the player in your system it slows down your system even more than usual [infogan234]
ya it does. hence whenever i am listening to music i have to be careful not to run other programs which utilise more computer memory. [ranjeetkolarkar]
Despite having more than enough power some times the flash ads that people use on their sites and the java applets that online gaming communities have mess with my itunes and it makes a skipping sound and throws a hissy fit. But tht's a result of poor web design and not the computer's fault. [joanana]
here's the best way to tell visit my radio station and click listen now www.hotmix106.com I broadcast in CD Quality and allows everyone to tune in without slowing down puters, even those very few still on dial up service. [Goranimal]
The answer will be depend on you computer specification back! If you have a Good proccessor and Good Memory then it will be no problem for you to play some MP3 while surfing myLot. However if your computer specification is kinda old then ut will slowing you down. Here is my recomendation to make your computer go faster 1.Upgrade to minimum Pentium IV or AMD sempron 3000+ of better if your bugdet is available 2.Upgrade your memory 512mb will be enough but 1gb will be perfect (remember to activate dual channel module if your mother board support it) 3.If you have to stick to your computer then do this weekly since it will help your computer work faster and more efficient >> Clean Up your disk using clean disk (this is the feature of windows XP that can be found on accecories -> System tools -> disk clean ) >> Defrag your hardisk at least once monthly. ( also can be foun on accecories -> System tools -> Disk defrag) >> Manage your start up files (since some program run as soon as you start your computer and using quite a lot of memories) >> Use an Anti spyware program to scan your computer and remove all the spyware and malware Well hope that will help you to have a faster computer! [sariayu]
i dont care about for that [ishtony2007]
Sometime it slows down, coz when listening to music,I'm used to surfing websites, reading news, checking emails and chatting with my friends, lol. [shinjiao]
It really depends on your computer. Maybe you have a little RAM. Maybe you have plenty of programs running on background that keep your computer to a bootleneck. You should try a little maintenance of your computer. It could get your computer to a screeching halt! [jarves]
no music don't consume such ressource have a nice day [jamalazza]
Noway any activity based on the software part of computer can slow it down until and unless you have insufficient amount of ram in our system. As your system runs all processes on ram then if it is low in amount then the computer slows down it's activities. [soulkeeper16]
Listening to music does not slow down my computer. If you have plenty of programs running on your computer or you have a low memory this would slow down your computer. I think you should buy a memory card to increase your memory. [jarves]
I does happen to me when my windows is unstable. But in normal conditions it does not happen. It should not happen, if it is happening then there would be some other application running which is using all your ram or their could be some virus slowing down the system. [Rohit1990]
it depends on your computer's memory. [yushen1008]
Hi friend,i think my computer not slow when i'm listening to music on it.i'm always listen song at winamp sometime i'm listen radio if don't have problem the server.sometime radio can't open that why i'm listen song at winamp. [bear_cute]
I too had the same doubt,As I always listen to music while working on the computer and mostly I find my computer slow. Thanks for the post.I went through the responses to clear myself. [biggerb]
Every program that you run takes up memory, but the key is that some are take up more than most. So what you must do is use a program that takes little memory but gets the job done. But typically a simple music player like RealPlayer should not take up much of your comptures processing.. [zenmachado]
No it will not. Why asking this question? Ask more questions about computer. [atulsraj]
It depends on which player i use to play the music. For some reason if I use I-Tunes it slows down my computer but if I use windows media my computer is just fine. [Lady_Vincy]
