I have Norton System Works. With it, there is a program that does clean up. One can program it to do it upon shut down, but I prefer to do it myself. And I do it every night before I shut down my computer to empty all the junk I have accumulated throughout the day. :) But I don't dump the cookies I have indicated it to always keep. That way, I do not always have to log in...like on myLot! :) [brokentia]

And, at the end of the day before I turn off the computer I clean the junk up by doing a fast clean sweep!! That's the way to go! [rsmith512]

Yes, I delete cookies and temp internet files when I close a browser. If not, the computer is slower. [birthlady]
i also do the same thing. usually it is safe to do this. it should be clear that in this rising age of technology and mind power we should be as safe as possible by taking all the precautionery steps. i wil tell you some more precautionery steps. whenevr u talk to a person on a mobile pone donot say something which u dont want to disclose to others. it is because your voice can be recorted by our friend. if u r giving your address to a website be sure that it is eal and not a forged one.it is because they can take your emailmpassword and can do some illegal works with your email account. [hunnymathur]
I have a temporary file or folder for a few things, my grandson has one for my space I have one for MYLOT. [marciascott]
Yup, I do that once in a while. I'm not sure if it helps much though. [wyykidd]
Well I delete my temporary internet files and history once a day. I also clean out the temp folder (which in XP can be hard to find since it's under documents and settings and you have to be able to view hidden folders). I find cleaning these out on a regular basis helps keep my computer running smoothly. If I don't it bogs down really quick. Cookies I clean out usually when I run the anti-spyware program. It takes care of most of them. [emeraldisle]
Well I dont delete cookies but I do delete Temp files daily. [Rohit1990]
I actually use a program called CrapCleaner to clean out all my temp files, cookies, etc. One click and I am done! [Kate06]
I dont do so as I keep a meagre 50 mb as cache size in firefox and that according to me too less in comparison to the size it should be. Why worry about cleaning that data when it does not turn my system to be faster or better? [anksrivastava]
Yes, it will be deleted automatically once a week. [pdsjkt]
Some times I delete them because my antivirus detects a virus in my Temporary Internet Files. But I usually install my Microsoft XP Professional every 3 to 4 months. My PC works very slow and I need to do that if I want to get some work done on it. [scarfaceboston]
Every day. I use "Crap Cleaner" and you can download this software for free. It does a great job. I also do "Adware" about once every couple of weeks to get rid of those nasty little buggies that some websites set in your computer. [sadgirl_1958]
