What should be done about this, children are not attending school or skipping classes jst to play this http://www.computersciencemba.com" alt="Computer Science MBA" target="_blank">computer games. Should parents be blamed for this or should we blame the inertnet cafes or every thing inbetween. greetings. : )
[question posted by moneymind]
responses and comments:
In such cases, parents are the ones who should be blamed... They should control their childrens from playin games when at home, and if it comes to the gaming cafe, its again parents who shd take care that they dont give their childrens so much money that they waste it playin games in cafes. Parents should ask them for the details how they used the money that they were given.... [zahir_dk]
that would be very nice but it would be better i think if also government will impose some penalties on those companies who are not complying with censoreship when it comes to producing computer games. greetings. : ) [moneymind]
I was.. but not so much addictive now. [misticonline]
are you also adicted to such patty... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
These games are dangerous and highly adictive. I speak from experience. I have been gaming for at least 15 years. I suffer from increased keyboard reflexes, lightning fast mouse response and improved multitasking. Oh and the adrinaline buzz is great. Who needs books if you can think of war strategies? Why shoot people in the real world if you can ecapitate them with a dagger? [Mahala4me]
You think this games, as dangerous/violent as you said have contributed to worsenning attitude or personnality of todays youth. greetings. : ) [moneymind]
It`s easy... make a schedule for them... and don`t allow them to play games more than they should... especially agresive ones!!! [Schubler]
Right!!!!! greetings [moneymind]
highly addictive. once v start playing, hours will passby in matter of seconds to us.. [Kalippukidilam]
so you earned the title gm...... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
To be true, yes it is and i m one of the victim [Sweety76]
don't tell me you also have the lightning speed mouse clicker syndrome........ greetings. : ) [moneymind]
No they arent if u can control yourself a bit i mean i am a teen i play pc and ps2 game sbut i never play for more then 3 hrs in a stretch that 2 only when my exams are over normally i play just for about an hour [ceoshubham]
well a very good kid you are.... carry on... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
I definitely think that computer games are addictive, but I don't think that they are to blame for kids not going to school. Sure, they're more accessible than games before them, but the same game devotion has been around for a long time. Its the fault of the person, not the parents, if they choose to neglect the important things for a game. [ronnic]
but parents should be guiding or giving good advices don't you think.... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
oh just like me spending lots of money in online games and always skipping school... we should blame internet cafes, coz they should be responsible for their customers.. [macubx]
what.... you skipped class again, man thats not good... what are you playing..... he he he he [moneymind]
internet ??? lol i working here also ~ nice~ [patrick1win]
internet ??? lol i working here also ~ nice~ [patrick1win]
well not so as children nowadays are very intelligent compared to my good old days, they we're born seeing a computer with a mouse, i think it's their own fault no one's to be blame as Im a parent am only guardian and guide our children makes their own destiny. [weblord]
i say its no a blaming issue but how to manage ones kid about spending thier time in front of a computer games and other activities.... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
It is a parents responsibility to control it.. My kids play video games... my oldest plays online.. but we have it set that the internet shuts down on the kids computers at 6pm and dosent come on until 10am... we limit the amount they are on and they are also involved in sports so they dont have a lot of time for it... but it is defently a parents responsibility to monitor what a child is doing on the internet, what games they are playing and how long they are playing. [mistysjavaspa]
thats a good one, the internet provider is the one shutting the net down at a specified time i like that very much at least what ever the child will say parents can blame the provider sort of for putting the net offline. i really like that arrangement, thank you for your post. greetings. : ) [moneymind]
no bt u r right that children are not attending school or skipping classes jst to play this computer games. Should parents be blamed for this or should we blame the inertnet cafes or every thing inbetween. [1986anshul]
i see its getting more complicated now.... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
It's the childrens' fault. They need to learn how to prioritize. Playing games can be done ANYTIME, like after school [dragonxazn]
yeah... you are right if only kids think the way you do.... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
yes they are addictive, but the blame has to be put on the parents. there have been studies that prove games like this are addictive. i'm addicted to one..my ex is addicted to one..my friend, that i introduced to the game, bacame addicted to it...but we are all mature and grown up..so we know we have to go to work and stop playing. my ex..however..if he was in the middle of an important battle that was going to last for hours, he wouldn't do anything..i'd either go home really early..before the battle..or really late...afterwards...got kind of ridiculous. ..but just as you can get yourself addicted, you can stop yourself from playing also... [shenanigans]
at least you know your limitations and can control your self when it comes to it. greetings. : ) [moneymind]
yes they are addictive. specially when you have a target, say to be the best scorer or to finish all the tasks. i allow my kids to play computer games only during summer or break from school. we uninstall all games during school terms. [everlasting]
thats a good way of controlling ones kids.... [moneymind]
I think saying kids skip school to play computer games is exaggerating just a bit. I love playing video games and stuff, they're fun, but I know there's a line to draw. Lately I've been playing old Nintendo/Super Nintendo games on my computer using an emulator. Now I just need to buy a game controller I can hook into my USB port on my computer and I'll be all set. [thisisrightnow]
well i have been seeing a lot of high schoolers here in my place playing during class hours.... [moneymind]
Most of the time there are. There is this website, where there are really good games. www.addictinggames.com [music2myears]
thats good but i am not into gaming.... [moneymind]
Yes they are addictive, and in a lot of cases it is the parents faults for using it as a way to babysit their child, but it would be the childs fault, they are the ones that choose to skip school. Then there are cases where they are older kids, that came to the game via other friends, and in these cases it would be the kids fault. It is easy to throw blame, and I think the children should be placed at fault, otherwise do they really learn anything? I only say this because I know when I was a child I was at fault, and it wasnt anyones fault but my own. [jncgiza]
wow... thats a very honest response i say, to accept that you are responsible for what you did specially a kid is i say a very responsible person. greetings. : ) [moneymind]
i think that games are too addictive and its the childs fault because they have control to stop playin and do something perductive [xoRicanDyme3ox]
well can't blame internet cafes or any other company if a kid is skipping school they aren't their parents. As far as computer gaming at home.....lock it down until home work is done and or set a time limit. My sister has 5 kids at home and well they are all given 1 hour a day to use the internet to update their myspace, talk to friends, play games, homework and whatever else. The only way they will get more than an hour is their homework needs it and then she's right there helping them. They can go days and weeks and not be allowed on it.. [shooie]
well anything that gives us pleasure--we get addicted to it.but the particular thing looses meaning to us in a few days.then the addiction gets over.same is the case with computer games.but parents should see to it that playing too much games don't harm their daily habits and studies [dublu_bhai]
i think yes. we cant blame aybody or anything we have to be firm with our children. That's the only solution. [richyrich]
yes world of warcraft is like crack with a keyboard...lol [gypsiewitch1977]
warcraft fanatic i assume..... [moneymind]
they are most deffffffffinatly addictive [xoRicanDyme3ox]
i assume you are addicted to computer games... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
yes i used to be addictive 24/7 but now i learned to control my hours not just cause my parents said so just for myself [brian101]
thats good at least you manage to have yourself controlled. greetings. : ) [moneymind]
yes I am addicted to computer games. I think parents should monitor time spent on the computer with the games. They should have like a password inorder to get on so if they kids are at home when parents aren't then they can't get online. [rmuxagirl]
that would be good or just uninstall all games during the school months... [moneymind]
Some of them. I know people who play them all day without even eating. Now thats crazy. [gbabee]
crazy addictive huh... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
Sure, it is. Not just for children but true for adult also. You can play from the sun-set until the sun-rise. After than , back to work with exhausted body. "Body is at the office and mind is definitely on the GAMES or might be still left on the bed" ~~ Should blame any parties. Children itself should learn how to setup its own self-controlled. Ofcoz parents have to play her role of educating. [wiwiwawa]
yeah at least parents should put also some good measures for the kids to follow... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
yes its addictive.. and ofcourse its parents fault!!!... they are the guides of what is good and bad in life for their children.. and they (parents) should keep an eye on any activity their children do. its irresponsable to think that its other ones fault. *__* [shrys03]
hhhmmmmm..... thats actually very true considering that thats supposed to be the work of parents or guardian, served as guardians, parents, role model, good friend etc. greetings. : ) [moneymind]
Yes Computer Games Are Addictive [Sorathian]

you are also playing those games huh... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
NO i don't think so that computer games are addictive [nautiyal_rohit]
good for you... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
Are computer games addictive? What should be done about this, children are not attending school or skipping classes jst to play this computer games. Should parents be blamed for this or should we blame the inertnet cafes or every thing inbetween. greetings.: ) it is good question, and it is hard to answer it. maybe the game producing company is to be blame, they don't consider the heavy result. [cranehuang]
yeah i say they share the blame for it... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
Hi moneymind Its difinite. Once we get habituated it is almost like smoking we cant leave that habit. Especially it is not good to play for long hours on pc. [ramalot]

i'm 29 yet i'm a computer games addictive...also PS2 addict as well LOL blame boredom..but seriously i guess, the parents have to play an active role in not letting things get out of control. [euniceeleanor]
i say thats the right thing to do for parents... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
for some people the computer game is addictive but not for all every thing looks good in limit. [ghazal2k5]
for some people the computer game is addictive but not for all every thing looks good in limit. [ghazal2k5]
yeah its good to have every thing in moderation... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
yes. i am very much addictive to it. [shaikghouse35]
well better start managing you time with it then... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
some games are addicting. but I think people have no right in saying people can or cant play in a place, unless that place says so. there should be nothing done. Its just what the persons decision is. Because its not just kids, but adults as well. You cant say a 25 year old guy playing a game and deciding to skip work for a day, and play, cant do it anymore. Its his right to decide. [fsustriker]
yes thats true for adults, what about kids... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
they have a tendency to be. which i specially found out while playing the no one lives forever series and the championship manager series. [sayanakaharry]
seems you are also addicted to them... greetings. : ) [moneymind]

[CrazyP]

[CrazyP]
well i say it is better to get addicted to computer games than those crap you have mention then... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
They sure can be addictive. Parents should be able to control their children though. So like someone else said, I think its more to the parents to blame then the child itself. [Penguinsangel]
yeah parents are supposed to be the guardians right... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
YEAH IM COMPUTER ADDICTIVE [djfaadu]
you are a computer addict huh... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
another thing parents dont want there kids to skip and kid have a will of there own and disobay [CrazyP]
yeah it seems that way... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
We shouldn't blame anything. Maybe the parents for not setting ground rules. But I agree very much. They are addictive. I've been playing Counter Strike for twelve hours straight. Starting at 8 in the morning to 10. Oops my bad more than 12 hours. [koikoikoi]
so you have also the lightning mouse clicking speed syndrome huh... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
Yes, It is but with games you can be a great player. You can practice the game you want but lets just put the priority of school before play. [alchemistrx]
yeah that would be great... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
we should blame no one for games, because of the fact that they're made and that it's the kids choice to get them, theyu should be more responible espically the parents at times. [joepicat]
i say most of the time that parents should be responsible... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
To me,they are not addictive. [zgb_0001]
good for you... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
even my brother is addictive i dont know whom to blame [mitra8801]
well try to convince your brother to control his time over the games then... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
If once they are in they cant get out of it [avi_rocks]
it seems really addictive... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
yes it is addictive, i spent most of my time playing online games.. [jonastabuena]
i say better manage your time over those games... greetings. : ) [moneymind]

ouch... that hurts... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
yes, they r additive because they r different [praveenkumar06]
being different makes it addictive huh... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
Yes. computer games are addictive. but we should blame no one for this. computer were created for the advance ment of knowledge of mankind. we should only blame ourselves coz we're the only one who controls our time. [Betheltemple]
wow... at least you know that you are the one controlling yourself... greetings. : ) [moneymind]
yes they r. the only solution is that one should not start with them [ayushthedevil]
Umh.. my parents always give me change to write schedulle for study and for play. And we will discudd it together. Adn after that, my parents ask me yo sign up the paper and promisse will not break it except it very importand (not for play). And it can control my game addict ^^ [hassei_takano]
yes I am also addicted to it but what da hell I love it [rockvenky]
Parents should implement discipline among their children regarding video games. When i was a kid, i remember my mom telling me not to play too much, or limiting my playing hours. While game rentals should implement rules on student playing during school hours. [shinobi]
i think they are, specially with agegroup from 10yrs to 20 yrs....then it decreases [manu_ghimire]
no that's not addictive that how you think about that game. [ghazal2k5]
I don't play computer games. I don't really play any games. Once in a while I will sit down and play a game with my 4 year old on his ps2. He really loves that game the grim adventures of billy and mandy. So I play with him sometimes. [stailgate]
I think you state a very good point. I lost my old bestfriend, to the game called "Runescape" He plays hookey once a week, just so that he can play it. When a new "Skill" came out, he faked sick for a week so he could get a good head start. He now plays from the time he gets home, till 12:00 at night. He has no friends, now, because of the game, and he will admitt to that. I think that it's sad.. [Alexanderrp]
wel i am love to play computer games my first computer game was Dave which i use to like a lot right now my favourite game is Max pyne, ages of ampires, Soldier of fortune etcand i really enjpt playing them its the best time pass [whitematter]
yeah it is a very good time pass specially if you know how to manage your time in it.. greetings. : ) [moneymind]
Telling children to understand good and bad of games. [MyTH59]
yes i am also agree with you [balabrahmam]
yes it is correct but these kind of things did not happen in continueosly if happend children life is spoil parents are must gide them and live them some time for games if they did not given time they try to do this thing only [balabrahmam]
ya offcourse they are addictive and are also very good too....skipping school is a bad thing but the second thing to do after studies for kids is to do some gaming.... [simon4u92]
Yes they are.One of my friends didn't go to school half a year just to play a rpg game online(lineage). [dadynigga]
ya. compute games addictive. [padhukr]
i don't have that much idea about all computer games to be addictive, but age series game are damn addictive, especially age of empires 2 [inderjeetnogi]
