Well yeah if you let them play all the time. My child plays in her free time, after homework is done, dinner etc. You control how much time the child spends with family interaction. Computer and video games are education our children..most have problem solving in them and my daughter has better computer skills than I and she has never had a computer class. Their future is digital technology, this is helping them prepare. [bhchy1]
It is very true that allowing children to operate the computer for endless time is harmful than useful. If the children use the computer for their educational purpose, it is justifiable. Instead if they use the computer for playing video games for more than 1 hour or 1/2 an hour is only making the children to take lesser interest in their studies. [ssh123]
Only if the parents allow this to happen. If kids did not have video games they would occupy themselves with other activites like playing outside. I think most of use would agree that playing outside would not spoil a child. It is up to the parents to set limits for their children. I disagree. There in fact may be some parents who are using video games as a babysitter just as there are some parents who use the tv as a babysitter. We use video games in our family time as well as during the school day for teaching time. The children do get leisure time at the tv to either watch a program we approve of and that they enjoy or to play a video game, but that time has to be earned throughout their school week. I think there should be a time limited on how long they play on them. They need to use there mind and body to be imaginary. Remember how kids used to play with the boxes instead of what was inside! Kids today have no imagination. [kcrowson]

If parents were involved in the games also, it'd have a big influene on children and their approach to gaming.
